Gibson Hill and Matthew Burlee l Richmond, VA l The Jefferson Hotel l April 14, 2012

This had to be one of the most FUN weddings we have ever photographed! Gibson and Matt are a fun-loving, easy-going couple that love to have a good time with their friends and family and I think these pictures say it all!

The walls were rockin’ at the historic Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Virginia….we have never seen so much dancing and celebrating in one place and the bride and groom were at the forefront of it all! Everyone at this event was ready to have a good time and I can say without a doubt that was accomplished.

This wedding had it all…the elegance and sophistication of a “formal” wedding but wrapped up in the fun-loving spirit of the bride and groom. All night long we kept hearing from the guest that “this was the BEST wedding they had ever attended!” Every detail was thought out and truly showed the couple’s personality and their love for each other.

Congratulation Gibson and Matt!

We are so excited we can hardly stand it!!!!

In less than two weeks we will be in Fabulous Las Vegas for Engage!12 Luxury Wedding Business Summit. This will be our third Engage!, we have previously attended at The Breakers in Palm Beach and The Grand Del Mar in San Diego.

Over the years we have been to MANY professional conferences but without a doubt we can say the Engage! events are truly the most inspiring conferences that we have ever attended.

Engage! brings together the industry’s top leaders so they can share ideas that will take their business to the next level. And while these three and half days are full of over the top “experiences” we go back each year because we know that we will leave being able to make our business better for our customers.

Over the next few weeks you will see lots of posts and pictures about Engage!12 but just to give you an idea of what’s in store we wanted to share this blog post, from Monica Horsley, with you. Monica is the previous owner of By Invitation Only and a true friend of Hayes & Fisk. She has been Mary’s partner in crime in Palm Beach and San Diego and this is what she had to say after we left the first Engage! conference.

Sometimes little ones aren’t so sure about having their portrait taken but when you surround them by their mommy and daddy they truly shine!

We just loved this session with The Pearce Family and this little one certainly did shine!

Here are some tips that may help the next time you take your children to get their portrait taken:

1.   Make sure to schedule your session during a time when they would not normally be napping

2.  Make sure they have eaten or had their snack

3.  Dress them in something that is comfortable and that they can move in

4.  Don’t bring too many people with you to the session but one extra person to help is a good idea

5.  Take LOTS of pictures of them at home so they are comfortable in front of the camera

6.  Buy them a toy camera to play with ahead of time so they view the camera as “fun”
