Honors, Awards, Friendship, Celebration and King Cake!

We have been super busy this week with the Virginia Professional Photographers’ Association’s Annual Convention; which took place here in Richmond, Virginia.  The event was held at the Sheraton Park South from February 21st-25th.

On top of the education and fellowship with other photographers, Hayes and Fisk is thrilled to have brought home several top honors. Jessica won Court of Honor for her Wedding Day Candid entry and Mary won Best Portrait of a Senior, Best Wedding Day Portrait and Best Portrait of a Bride. In addition, Mary also took home the RC Pro Lab Portrait Award.

While it is so nice to be recognized for our hard work, it was made even more special by the fact that we had the privilege of celebrating our friends Ralph and Cindy Romaguera (of New Orleans). Ralph’s term as President of the Professional Photographers’ Association comes to an end on March 1st so we had many accomplishments to celebrate this week and it was a true honor to have them here in Virginia with us.

On Tuesday night we were lucky enough to have a celebratory dinner at The Jefferson Hotel, prepared by Chef Walter Bundy, especially for Cindy and Ralph. This amazing dinner was complete with a #RVA Edition of the traditional New Orleans King Cake. Sara Ayyash, the executive pastry chef at The Jefferson used Krispy Kreme Donuts to create this special treat. Per The Jefferson’s usual this meal was simply over the top and was exactly what you would expect from the  5 Star, 5 Diamond Lemaire Restaurant.
