Inside Look: Hayes and Fisk Photography
We are so excited about today’s blog post. We are kicking off a series that is focused on our clients and their experience with Hayes and Fisk. We will feature a client portrait session or special event and in that feature we will share with you a one on one client interview that offers a little insight into their session.
Our first client exclusive is with Kim Moody. Kim and her husband, Andrew, had their maternity portraits and newborn studio portraits done at Hayes and Fisk. Kim is the owner of Kim Moody Design and it is always an honor to get a chance to photograph our friends and partners in the wedding and event industry.
Here is what Kim had to say about their experience:
H&F: What made you decide to have maternity portraits done?
KM: Mary encouraged us to come in for a maternity session but time was running out and it was close to Christmas and we just weren’t sure we could find an available day. I mentioned this to Amye (of Richmond Weddings) and she insisted that we should make the time. She shared with me a picture from her and Scott’s maternity session and told me what a special time this was for them and how much they treasured these photographs. Since Amye isn’t usually so sentimental, I knew we better make time to document that moment!
H&F: I can imagine that you could have been a little nervous for your maternity session, how did it go?
KM: Mary and Jamie were just so easy to work with. They made us feel so comfortable. Jamie did the shooting and Mary was there as a support system to both Jamie and to us. She helped with styling and when there was something that she knew may be uncomfortable she talked us through it and made us feel right at ease!
Jamie was so attentive to every detail. As a male photographer it was great to see him care about every strand of hair and every pose. You could tell he strives for perfection. It was just awesome to see him care so much about the details.
H&F: How about your husband, how was the experience for him?
KM: Over the years I have had my photograph taken for many occasions. However, besides professional headshots, and our wedding photos, this was a first for him. But again, Mary and Jamie put him right at ease and made us both feel so comfortable.
H&F: Any additional thoughts or comments about this session:
KM: Just that we thought the session would take 30 minutes but even during the height of busy season, Jamie spent over two hours with us. It was really incredible to see him in his element.
H&F: You also did a newborn studio session, tell us about that.
KM: This session couldn’t have been any better. Hayes and Fisk captured stunning black and white pictures that we just feel in love with.
Jamie was so patient, calm and collected. Baby Parrish was having a rough day and Jamie still was able to get several hundred perfect images.
As new parents, with a week old baby we didn’t know how this process was going to work but Jamie was a true professional and guided us through the whole process. He was very gracious and his attitude was very much appreciated.
H&F: Any final thoughts/words:
KM: Overall it was a great experience. After these two sessions it is evident as to why they are known for the being Richmond’s BEST Portrait Photographers.
