Roslyn Bishop Chapel: The Perfect Little Chapel

We have shared some of our favorite parts of Pam & Cal’s Richmond, Virginia Wedding since they got married in July. Today we are going to take a look at their very small, intimate ceremony. The ceremony was only attended by a handful of guests but there was not a dry eye in the chapel.

The ceremony was held at Roslyn Bishop Chapel off of River Road. Completed in 2009, the Bishop’s Chapel at Roslyn was built to honor the Rt. Rev. Peter James Lee, Virginia’s 12th bishop. Roslyn is a retreat and it was totally secluded. It truly felt like we were the only people there. When I asked our very own Jessica what her favorite part of wedding was she mentioned the ceremony. She used the words “peaceful and sweet” to describe this part of the wedding.

It was truly a beautiful place to get married for this beautiful couple.

Inside Look Interview 7: Hayes & Fisk

Today’s Client Interview is with Angela Morrell. We have been photographing her daughter Grace since she was born. We are excited to share this interview and Grace’s pictures with you.

H & F: How did your relationship get started with H & F?

Angela: I found Jamie when I was looking for someone to take some pregnancy photos of me. He took the pictures on a Tuesday and Wednesday my water broke and I went to the hospital. Grace was born  on Thursday, July 17, 2008, at 12:30 am. He took great photos of my beautiful big belly!

After she was born I went to By Invitation Only to get her birth announcements. They had portraits by Hayes & Fisk hanging on the walls and we loved their work. We had also seen their portraits at Strasburg Children’s Boutique at Short Pump Town Center. When we purchased our announcements we were gifted a free session fee with H &F, so we decided to get her newborn portraits done.  After those two sessions we were hooked.

H & F: How often have you used H & F since Grace’s newborn portraits?

Angela: We went back every three months for the first year and then we continue to go back every year on her birthday. Sometimes we go to the studio and other times we have gone on location to places like Maymont. We also visit the studio each Christmas for their Holiday Quick Takes, so we can get that perfect image for our holiday card.

In addition, we’ve had Hayes & Fisk take our family portraits, including with the grandparents to show all three generations. And they have did her Baptism photos and several Easter Portraits.

H & F: What keeps you coming back?

Angela: Grace just feels so comfortable with Jamie. He knows how to relate to children at every age. And every time he gets the perfect picture. I never have to worry about “if” we will get a great image. What Jamie has you just can’t teach…he just has “it”.

Overall they are just professional and great to work with.
