Childhood Portrait Session

It’s always great to have Clark in our garden at Hayes & Fisk and we so enjoyed shooting his Childhood Portrait Session. We loved all of his outfit changes, especially his 1z2z3z sailor outfit. He is always the perfect model.

Capturing your children at different ages is always so special. These are memories that you will only be able to recreate through documentation and Clark was the perfect age to have his main childhood portrait session taken. Maggie and Steve, his parents, were thrilled with the results. And Jamie truly felt he captured Clark’s mood, feeling and expressions just perfectly. In each image, Clark seemed so natural which made the focus shine straight to his face. He is usually traveling at full speed to be able to preserve these tiny little moments was unexpected but wonderful.

Preserving memories of childhood for a lifetime of enjoyment truly brings us so much pleasure. Life is too short not to enjoy these moments and document them to remember forever.

As 2017 comes to end, we invite you to think about all of the wonderful memories you have had with your children. Think about how much they have grown and changed over the past year. Then we challenge you to make a commitment to document these special times in 2018. Give us a call and schedule a consultation. Come to the studio and talk to us about the options because they are endless. Make 2018 the year to create the perfect childhood portrait for your child or children.

Hayes & Fisk 2017 Holiday Quick Takes

Hayes & Fisk 2017 Holiday Quick Takes have been a total success. It is hard to compare year to year, but 2017 may be one of our favorites. We love seeing our long-time Hayes & Fisk Clients during the holidays. As well as, welcoming new clients to our family.

This year we had our traditional holiday backdrops, as well as the new wreath and white sofa. It was so enjoyable watching everyone have fun with each of the different options. Some of the outtakes were a good as the final images.

We loved helping everyone pick out custom holiday gifts to add their images to. We also created lots of photocards to be shared with your friends and families. The holidays are truly our favorite time of year.

While we love photographing our clients, the first set of images are very special to us. Obviously, we have been photographing, Alexandra and Jax, Mary’s children since they were born, but every year is even more special. They have both become the most incredicle adults and we just love to get them in front of the camera.

Here are a few words from Mary about Alex and Jax’s images:

“Obviously, I have my kids photographed every year and I love to have a new portrait to share with friends and families every holiday.  Sending holiday cards is a tradition that I absolutely cherish and each year I look forward to sending our family cards and receiving them from others. When Alexandra left for college it was the hardest/best day of my life and then two years later Jax did the same exact thing.  I miss them so much but could not be prouder of them and all of their amazing accomplishments.  I have always cherished my portraits, but now more than ever, since they are away and I look at my pictures every single day, and I still PRINT them!  It is great to have them on my phone or social media but there is nothing in the world better than a printed image.”

Outdoor Bridal Portrait Session

Cathleen was stunning in her outdoor bridal portrait session. She was glowing from the moment she stepped into her gown. Cathleen visited our Parham Road studio and garden in Richmond, Virginia, for her session. It was a beautiful day and she wanted to use our garden as the backdrop for her bridal portraits.

We met Cathleen and her fiance (now husband), Edwin, through our photography work with the Richmond Flying Squirrels, where he used to play baseball. Jamie even traveled to San Diego, California for their Engagement Session. Click here to view the photos from that session.

Cathleen’s beautiful dress came from Bliss Bridal, a wonderful little bridal shop on Huguenot Road. Lou Steven’s Glam Squad did her hair and make-up for this session as well. You can always count on the glam squad to get you picture perfect for your wedding day or bridal portrait session.

While having a stunning Bridal Portrait is always the most important reason to schedule your session, it also serves as a great trial run for your special day. It gives you a chance to practice your hair and make-up and to see how it will photograph. You also get to spend some time in your wedding dress to make sure it fits and feels just the way you want it to, before you spend 6-8 hours in it at your wedding. Finally, it gives you one more opportunity to bond with your photographer and feel more confident in front of the camera.

Cathleen and Edwin were married in Richmond, Virginia on October 28th and we will share those images with you very soon.
