Richmond is such a small town and so many of our clients are connected. Take Kelly, for instance, she lives down the street from our client Paula Cordle, owner of The Model Connection. However, she is also friends with Jackie Hendricks. Jackie knew a Hayes Portrait Session was just was the Andes Family needed, so she gifted Kelly a certificate to get them in the studio. It turned out to be the perfect motivation and the session resulted in beautiful artwork for their home.

Jamie worked with Kelly to figure out exactly what pieces she envisioned and where they would go in her home. She knew they needed one family portrait with their new Pomeranian, which Jeff surprised the family with the last time he was home. Jamie and Kelly decided this would be a large portrait that would hang in their formal dining room. Also, they decided on three individuals of each child to hang going up the stairs to the second-floor bedrooms. This was the perfect wall because it was visible to the rooms where everyone congregates.

Kelly, Rylee, Ella, and Zane all had a wonderful time in the studio gardens. We got some excellent shots that really expressed their personalities. Below the portrait images, you will see some candids of the installation. Hanging the final product in our client’s home and seeing their expression is truly our favorite part. You can just see the sheer joy on Kelly’s face.

Photographing Man’s Best Friend

Our client’s animals have joined us in the studio for Holiday Quick Takes, posed outside in our gardens, and we have come to their homes or fields to capture them on their turf. We can’t claim to be family photographers if we don’t include the whole family.

For this session, Jamie was super excited to reconnect with his friend Andy. They have been friends for decades, but they hadn’t seen in each other in while. Andy reached out to have us photograph his beautiful dog, Mia. She is 11 years and was the perfect subject. We swear she was smiling for the camera.

We did several images inside our studio, as well as some in our garden. Mia was so well behaved and never “talked back”. She gave us the perfect expressions and seemed to enjoy being in front of the camera.

This session was done before our current Tails of RVA promotion, however, now is the perfect time to bring in your cat or dog to be photographed for our coffee table books. Me-WOW! Your Cat belongs in Pictures! We are so excited to kick off the second part of our Tail of RVA book promotion to benefit Fetch-a-Cure.

Last month we announced RVA’s Best Dog Photo Promotion to benefit Fetch-a-Cure. For this promo you can bring your dog into our studio for their own session. These images will be used in a published Tails of RVA coffee table book by Hayes & Fisk.

FETCH works tirelessly to further pet cancer awareness, education, and treatment. This is definitely something we can get behind. A $100 donation to FETCH will be made from each session fee.

Now we have decided that we can’t leave out our beloved cats. The details remain the same, the session fee is $250 and includes the session and a copy of the book with a custom cover featuring YOUR cat. In addition, we will make a $100 donation to FETCH.
