This Studio Black and White Session is so sweet. Six-year-old Gigi stole our hearts.

Mom, Jennifer, brought Gigi to our Richmond, Virginia studio for this session. She was such a delight to photograph and the final product was just as we had envisioned. This artist project was a celebration of everything this well-rounded child loves; ballet, violin, and dance.

Gigi had so much fun bouncing from one outfit and activity to the next, all with a huge laughing smile. It was obvious how much she loves each activity.

It was so easy to get caught up in the infectious and exciting energy of this little girl doing the things she loves most.

We just adore the images of both mom and daughter. They just look so happy and both of them enjoyed every minute of it.

Jennifer loved every shot and even booked an oil portrait session for the fall. This is the perfect time to capture Gigi in an oil portrait.

Whether you are looking for a studio session or to book a session in our garden, this is the perfect time of year. The fall colors make for a gorgeous background and there is plenty of time to get images back for the holidays. If this year has taught us one thing, it is not to put off till tomorrow, what you can do today. Now is the time to capture these special moments.

Give Mary a call or send her an email today to set up a consultation. We will help you every step of the way.

We are loving this Alford Family Studio Session. Michaiah is a super busy mom who carved time out of her family’s busy schedule for a portrait session. We understand how easy it is to put off things like family portraits, but it is so important to capture these memories while you can. Life can change on a dime and portraits are one thing that helps those memories alive.

Michaiah is a clinical pharmacist at St. Mary’s Hospital, mother of two very active boys, and helps a loving husband navigate their new home. Even with all of this going on, she sat down with us for her portrait design session. This was her family’s first professional portrait session, so this meeting was so important. At Hayes & Fisk, we understand the importance of guiding you through the process from planning to installation. Every step is as important as the next.

We had so much fun ironing out all of the details. Every detail was thought out, from the clothing to the location where the portrait would be hung. We were thrilled to come up with a perfect plan for it all.

For the session itself, the Alford’s joined us at our Richmond, VA studio. With two active boys, Jamie had to work quickly through the session, and as always, he kept them more than entertained. Jamie is the master at maintaining the perfect balance between artistry and implementation. This balance resulted in a stunning final product. In fact, Michaiah was so happy that she has already booked a garden oil portrait session for Lucas.

When Michaiah came to see the final product we had a long discussion about what was currently happening at the local hospitals, during the pandemic. She was explaining about the enormous amount of pressure that these frontline professionals are under right now. This got Jamie thinking. He wanted to do something to give back. So he worked with Michaiah to get permission to send food to her fellow coworkers, as a way of saying thank you. He spent hours mixing, baking, and safely packaging our famous homemade chocolate chip cookies for 47 fellow employees in her shift. It was just a little something to say thank you.

We are excited to share this Bitz Family Newborn Session. Hayes & Fisk has been capturing the Street-Bitz Family for many years. Eight years ago, we photographed Amy and Jamie’s wedding and we have been capturing their ever-growing family ever since. This session was for their newest addition, Alex. They wanted the traditional black and white studio look, but of course, we had to get our famous stacked towel image as well.

Even though our goal was to capture images of Alex, we got a few family shots that included siblings, Caitlin, and Jackson. Big sister and brother showed so much love for their new baby brother. They are going to have a wonderful relationship as the three of them grow up.

It is so great to watch Caitlin during our sessions. She has a very reserved personality and is a real thinker, like both of her parents. She contemplates every move and allows us to get the perfect shot. Jackson is more high-spirited and very inquisitive. He is always smiling and making everyone laugh. We just love watching their little personalities evolve as they get older.

As you know, we believe that capturing our children from the very beginning is so important. These are memories that families will cherish for years. We just love seeing members of our Hayes & Fisk Family come back to recreate similar images for siblings. Each image is a true piece of art that helps to make a house a home. Walls lined with family portraits simply make our hearts smile.
