This Phillips Engagement Session truly represented this couple! Following in her parent’s footsteps, Sandra’s love for drag racing cars would forever change her life. Sometimes love finds you in the strangest places, as is the case for Sandra and David. Amongst the sounds of screeching tires, screaming fans, and checkered flags; Sandra kept noticing a particularly handsome man around the track and with a little help from her parents, love was in the air.

After hearing how these two met, we had to incorporate their love of cars into their engagement session. The two cars used in this session hold special memories for the couple. Both cars have been passed down from Sandra’s parents and this allowed us to honor their memory and their love of the track. 

Crump Park turned out the be the perfect location for this shot. It is conveniently located near Sandra’s dog grooming business and her home. This allowed a short distance to haul the cars for the shoot.

With the help of her son Koen, we were able to find just the right angles for both cars. We created a variety of different looks for the collection of portraits. These images were displayed at their ceremony and are now proudly displayed in their home. Our favorite poses were the two individual shots of each of them in their respective cars, Sandra in her mom’s and David in her dad’s. Both of these cars will be the background for the ceremony, again incorporating her parents’ memories into the wedding. We could feel the presence of both Sandra’s parents as we worked through the session, pose after pose incorporating both cars, old and new memories, and lots of love.

We just love Katrina and Paul’s Engagement Session at Maymont Park. Maymont is located in the heart of the city of Richmond, Virginia. We have done many sessions at this particular park and we knew it was the perfect location for this couple.

When we first met Katrina and her mom, Karen, we just knew that we would be a perfect fit for photographing Katrina and Paul’s wedding and we’re so excited to be considered for their event. Karen works for Glave Homes, here in Richmond, and we have done a bit of commercial photography for the architecture firm so we had a common interest.

As we learned about the couple’s wedding we knew it would be a fun event to photograph. They were planning two events. The first being a traditional Indian Wedding for Paul’s wedding. Then a wedding that mimicked Katrina’s family’s traditions at the John Marshall Hotel. 

Katrina chose Maymont Park as the location for their engagement session. The architecture, flowers, and water features were a perfect fit for the three outfits she and Paul had in mind for the shoot. We started at the Japanese gardens, at the lower level of the park, with the first and most formal of outfits. Their clothing colors were a great compliment to the blooming hot pink azaleas. We utilized the arched bridge and surrounding areas, including a few poses of their reflections in the still water, before we moved up the hill for a more casual, but wonderfully coordinated dressy casual look and feel.

Dancing around and walking through the long pergola covering the Italian garden’s walkway, Katrina and Paul became very comfortable and relaxed. Our favorite shots was when Katrina slipped her arms around Paul and leans in really close with a big smile on her face. Moving up to the mansion and changing into jeans and casual shirts, we moved around the house and made our way to the front gates for the last location of the shoot. Photographing in the row of trees that line one side of the parking lot, one of our favorite spots and probably the most unused, we ended the session with a few fun shots of Paul picking up Katrina and kissing her.

Katrina & Paul’s Engagement Session

We are excited to share this Charlottesville Virginia Engagement Session! Chris and Ben were an absolute pleasure to photograph. We originally met the fun-loving couple over Zoom. We quickly realized that capturing their special day would be magical. They may have found us through a Google search, but we had an instant connection with these two amazing men.

Mary couldn’t get over their attention to detail. Parts of their outfits were custom-made and designed to include elements that represented their relationship. Even the stones in their ring help to tell their story. The fact that we get to document all of this is a dream come true.

Alton Lane is a must for any man who loves fine quality, tailored clothes and accessories. Chris and Ben were perfectly coordinated and looked like they stepped right out of a magazine. We had so much fun, watching these two interact all day; the love and excitement shown on their faces say it all.

The Septenary Vineyard served as one of the locations for this session. The luscious greenery and gorgeous mountain views made for the perfect backdrop.

Meeting clients like Chris and Been is why we love photographing weddings! This was a truly special day and we are honored to be part of it.
