We just love this Algeier Senior Portrait Session. Hayes & Fisk has been photographing this family for close to 20 years. It is a true honor to have so many families trust us to document and curate their visual history, to share for years to come.

This session was to celebrate Grace’s Senior Graduation. We have watched Grace and her brother Jett grow up right in front of our camera. During this session, Graces shared that they are so accustomed to coming to Hayes & Fisk for their holiday portrait session, that it does not feel like Christmas without a visit to our studio. We absolutely love these traditions.

Grace had such a great time in front of the camera. She had the perfect outfits to fit her personality and her smile came through in every image. Grace has such a kind and loving soul and we definitely think these images capture just that.

From Lilly to formalwear, every image is exquisite. They were able to find the perfect image for her oil portrait that will hang in the family’s piano room, beside her mother’s bridal portrait. We are already looking forward to Jett’s senior portrait session, which will be here before you know it.

Being a high school senior is such a special time in a teenager’s life. We just love when extra love goes into the perfect session. Senior are losing so much of their high school experience right now, it is nice to keep up these traditions.

We just love this Wright Senior Portrait Session. We have literally watched the Wright boys grow up in front of our camera. From the beach to our gardens to the University of Richmond, it has been a wonderful journey.

This session was for Graham’s senior portraits. We captured his brother Harrison’s a few years back and the family wanted something as wonderful for Graham. This is such an important and memorable time and it should definitely be documented to enjoy for years to come.

We choose the James River as the perfect location for this shoot. Graham mentioned that he spent a lot of time on Belle Isle, so we thought it would be the perfect place to capture these memories and take advantage of the beautiful surroundings.

First, we began the session in the parking lot, under the train trusses, and then we walked along the bridge to Belle Isle. Working around visitors, we made our way to the island. Here we were able to take advantage of the field of tall grasses, rusted ruins, and of course the view of the Richmond skyline. We were able to find the perfect background to coordinate with each outfit change. The session ended under the 12th Street Bridge with its amazing architectural elements. This suited his vintage Midlothian Soccer shirt perfectly.

In the end, we were able to grab a few shots of Graham and Harrison together. It was the perfect way to send this session. It was so wonderful to see these boys again with their parents sharing a very happy moment.

Excited to share this Dawson Senior Portrait Session with you today! We were thrilled to receive a call from Margaret Anne to photograph her son’s senior portraits. We hadn’t photographed Cash since he was three months old, so we couldn’t wait to see him all grown up.

After a quick phone consultation with Margaret Anne, we had the perfect setting for the session. Portrait sessions that are done at home always have such special meaning.  Upon arrival, we took a quick tour that included a greeting from their dog and checking out the vintage truck. We knew right away that we would get some great shots. The property was a photographer’s dream playground, including Cash’s very own Bike Shop.

We started with the front of the house and included some shots with their dog. Then with a quick change into some casual clothes, we photographed Cash with the low-rider, vintage truck that Cash and his dad restored together. Moving to the back yard, the morning sunlight danced through the trees, speckling the thick, green grass as we captured the next set of images. Here we utilized the stone wall for some added texture. This helped give us the garden portrait feel that we are known for. Next, we also captured some shots with mom and dad.

After that, we headed to the back porch area for a few more shots with the dog and onto the orange couch to add a pop of color. This was the perfect prop to create a father-son image that would showcase their relationship and a lifetime of fun and lots of laughter.

Then we moved on to the bike shop that Perry built for Cash to repair and build his off-road bikes. This was one of our favorite locations. Finally, we ended on the dirt bike trail to get Cash in action. With dirt flying off the back wheel as Cash quickly took the jumps and hugged the trees, we got the perfect action shots. After that, it was time to call it a day.

This is the kind of session that truly warms our hearts and feeds our creative souls.
