Perfect Richmond Fall Wedding

Alicia and Andrew were married on the perfect fall day in Richmond, Virginia. They exchanged vows on November 11, 2017, at Trinity United Methodist Church. Following their church wedding guests enjoyed a full night of dinner, drinks, and dancing at The Jefferson.

There was a chill in the air that day, but the warmth of The Jefferson was the perfect place for the bride and groom to get ready for their special day. The trees outside were the perfect shade of yellow and that made the perfect backdrop for their first look. Alicia could not stop smiling the entire day, especially when she looked at Andrew. Their first look was one of Jamie’s favorites because they were so giddy in love.

When we think back to their Engagement Session, we remember how in love they looked. They constantly had their eyes on each other and their wedding day was no different. Their smiles were infectious, you couldn’t help but smile when you looked at this fun-loving couple.

Once everyone was ready for the wedding, they traveled to Trinity United Methodist Church for the ceremony. After that, guests joined the couple in the Rotunda at the Jefferson Hotel for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Then they made their way upstairs for dinner and dancing. Jimmy at the Jefferson Hotel always sets the stage for the best parties as the food, decor, and timing were just perfect as usual. There is not a more beautiful backdrop for a wedding than the Jefferson Hotel!

Family is very important to Alicia and Andrew, so we made sure to capture as many special moments as possible with them and their parents. These are images that they will treasure for a lifetime. We especially loved capturing Alicia dancing with her dad. He sang to her and twirled her around on the dance floor like they were the only two in the room.

The band Soul Expressions kept the guests on the dance floor until the bitter end. So much fun was had by all! When the night was finally over, Alicia and Andrew were sent off with a spectacular bubble display.

Wine Tasting and New Product Launch

Recently we celebrated the launch of a new and special product with our friends from Mosaic Catering & Events and some very special guests.  This wine tasting and new product launch was a complete success. We were thrilled to celebrate with some very special friends and members of our Hayes & Fisk family.

We hosted the event at Mosaic Catering & Events. The wines were brought in from Tenuta Torciano Winery from San Gimignano, Italy and Mosaic provided the delicious food. We met the lovely people from Torciano Wine while we were photographing a wedding in Tuscany last year. We loved the wines and the people, and we knew a wine tasting would make for the perfect new product launch.

Hayes & Fisk will be sharing more information regarding our new product in the upcoming weeks. We are certain our clients are going to love this new product and are thrilled to be able to provide yet another method to bring our images to life.

Finally, we want to thank everyone that joined us for the wonderful event. We received lots of positive comments about the wines, food, and our new product.

Springtime Portrait Sessions

Springtime Portrait Sessions are here. In the fall we say how much we love fall sessions in Richmond. Then springtime comes around that becomes our favorite time of year. I guess, no matter the time of year, it is the perfect time for a professional portrait session.

These images come from the Chambers family. It seems like just yesterday when we first photographed Laura’s boys, Cole and Ethan. However, it has been several years now. We just love to document our client’s families as they change and the kids grow up.

Everything was perfect about this Spring day in Central Virginia. Like every 19 months old, Ethan was a little reluctant at times, but we like to see Jamie really working for that perfect image. There is nothing like capturing the essence of childhood and the crazy antics that go with it. It definitely keeps our job fun and exciting. This was the perfect age for Cole’s portraits before he lost his two front teeth. And how cute are Ethan’s overalls? That outfit really enhances the little boy look and feel of these images and his expressions are priceless!

The three oil portraits, from this session, were displayed side by side to showcase how much the boys look alike and their height differences at this moment in time. (See image at the bottom of this post for the installation.)

Jamie always says he wishes he had an oil portrait from his childhood. There is no better way to document your children as they are growing up. These portraits keep the family legacy alive and are truly something that will last a lifetime. Their grandmother, Donna gushed over these images as she told stories of Laura’s portraits when she was a little girl. The effort and time it takes to schedule the session, plan the outfits and have the images done is totally worth it when you see the final product hanging on your walls.
